What is the difference of acrylic extrusion sheet and cast plate?
When it come to acrylic sheet , usually it refer to ordinary extrusion acrylic sheet .
So what is acrylic extrusion sheet ? It is actually made of small acrylic pellet reclaimed acrylic items. These recuperation is belt ,and then extruded into one sheet by machinery.. On the process of melt and extrusion , there are different percent of impurity ,which would form spots in these sheet . Thus it distinguish by grade A and B .
No matter grade A or B , you may find spots or black phenomenon on the edge of these extrusion sheet, which is caused by its process.
Corresponding, cast plate is finished by casting , forming and cooling in the end . Unlike extrusion sheet, the edge of cast plate is highly transparent and smooth . When it is proceed ,the edge is wrapped by film ,so no spots or mark , very pure .. Except its high purity , there wouldn’t hole when it is engraved or processed . While the advantage of cast plate is , there aren’t so many size for the plate , usually 1.83 x 1.22 , 2.44 x 1.22 mm are available . And its size would be increased as the thickness (2 mm +/- 0.5 mm, 4mm +/ - 0.6mm , 5mm + /- 0.8mm ,, 7mm +/- 1mm ).
So how to distinguish the extrusion sheet and cast plate ? You just know it lightly ,when you can hear the echo of dong dong , it must be cast plate . |
