The process of light guild panel (LGP)include silkprinting , carving style , chemical etchiung, direct injection methd . And here ,we tell about the difference of these different technics as follows:
Silkprinting : After the process ,the surface of LGP is silk printed by ways of grid . The material of grid silk printed effect the role of refraction and reflection of light. Which means the light going from the side of light guild panel would be changed into a flat light due to these dots . Although the production process need high technologies, yet the production cost is low and also it has the dual effect of light refraction and high reflectivity, the brightness is very good . what is more , this method is suitable from small size to large size light guild panel . Therefore , such process method is a prior consideration for ultra slim crystal light box in advertising industry . Compared to other methods , Light refraction effect is somewhat less than the non-printed the first three, but it feature high reflectivity which can make up .this disadvantage. Carving style . Such method is finished by engraving machinery in the surface of the acrylic plate engraved with the groove or concave hole lattice. When the light is fired In from the side of the acrylic sheet, these trough or concave hole lattice produce the role of light refraction light plane refracted into a plane of light. Through the way of engraving , it has better refraction of light and good brightness ,but the investment is large. Although the production process is simple, the production efficiency is low, the strength of the sheet after the carving will be destroyed, trough or concave holes may store the dust.
Chemical etching method. one Mold should be firstly made according to the size of the backlight . Through the combination of mold and acrylic sheet and by ways of chemical corrosion, the acrylic plate is generated into grid. Its working principle is nearly the same as carving method. Refraction of light is better, brightness is good and investment is large Different size of products need different Mold . Once these Mold is confirmed , the size of grid can’t be modified . So Mold must be a success, or scrapped. The production process is a little difficult to be grasped. Such technical is mainly suitable for small liquid crystal display backlight products.
Direct injection method The grid are designed on injection mold according to the size and thickness of the backlight, the PMMA granule are directly produced into light guild panel through injection molding. The working principle as above. Refraction of light is better, brightness is good and Investment is large. Different size products need different mold. And alsothe cost of plastic mold is costly. Once the Mold is finished ,the size of grid can’t be modified .
These light guide material powder which feature refraction and reflection are mixed in PMMA colloidal. And PMMA rubber is hot melt and then poured into the ready Mold, after cooling and finally become the light guide plate. The working principle is very similar to silk printing method .. Planar optical uniformity better.
